When we moved and hit the road for 7 hr car ride, we put our cat in the crate and didn’t think much about it. 10 minutes of him crying like he was getting murdered was enough, we let him out and he slept on my lap for most of the trip.  I just put them in a situation where the only place they can go to is in the carrier.

But my cats aren’t THAT violent when cornered, and they usually just submit to the crate after a few feeble signs of protest.  My cats have are smart. As soon the box come out they hide. My cats are extremely sociable creatures but I even when I try putting out the box a day or two before and they are smart enough to know that if the boxes out that a trip to the vet is closed and they will avoid as much as possible.

I try feeding him in the morning when they are usually extremely excited to eat but they will find places to hide out until their crate is back in the closet.  One has to think ahead..I close ALL the doors to other rooms, have cat-carry atop in kitchen counter, just pick either on up and put them in face first, gently coaxing them & nudging the rear-end in…

Out of all the cats I’ve had over the years, they seem to know they will be OK.  We leave the carrier on the floor so they can go inside as they please. One of the cats has made it a cuddlespot and he happily sleeps inside them of his own volition. And when he has to be taken anywhere he is the easiest cat to get in the crates, because he just walks in and plops down.

Both my cats easy to get in, one goes by himself and is pretty chill until we get to the vet, then he will try to fight you, the other one puts a bit of a fight to get in but it’s easy enough, however he’s not chill at all, he SCREAMS all the way to the vet, then shakes while there, shrinks into himself when the Aussies Fincon Dallas 2017 Shirt handles him and then proceeds to SCREAM all the way back home…
