This should not be a generic roll out – it is not achievable for many schools. As a generalisation, so many I not old fashioned and yes kids need to learn modern things but good Autism Vengers Different Not Less Shirt grounding gives more knowledge and teach respect. What happens if students move schools, they start one language at one school and the other school doesn’t teach the same. Some parents have to move because of jobs. Put that student behind. Just a thought.

I thought they already did but I think it’d be great for kids to learn a second language. It’d be better if school had multiple choices to choose from instead of the classic Italian. I did 6 years of Italian and hated it while now not being able to speak two words of it. I think it’s great but wish they would choose a languagethey could actually use. (Or at least have a choice in the language they speak instead of being told to speak and One language). I’m not racist. My son has Spanish in his blood and i know he’d love to learn it and it’s useable in life.

Not everyone travels Asian countries. Half the kids these days have trouble with the Englishlanguage. If this happens in my child’s school I would pull them out , and yes Two of my children excelled at foreign languages ! That time should be spent helping children with their subjects they are not excelling in !! I learnt a second language all the way through school and then did another one at Uni. I can honestly say that learning a foreign languageteaches you a lot about their culture, but it also reinforces how English as alanguage is put together.

I think I remember more about English grammar from having to learn a foreign language than any of my English classes. This is a great initiative. Omg there will always be something more worthy to teach. But I don’t think this is “unworthy” so I dont think it has to be bagged about because certain people have a cause they feel is better. Pick something else and people will have other ideas. I’m just going with “I support education” and leaving it there. If only people knew how beneficial a secondlanguage is.

As for a child struggling so why make it harder. Why hold back ever child just to suit another. Instead let each child have the same opportunity to learn at their own pace. This will benefit our children and help them in so many ways. Let’s face it, rolling out language classes in primary school is not going to make the little darlings speak it fluently, especially when taught by non-specialist language teachers.

My three teenagers have been taught a second language since they were in pre-kindy. If not learnt at high school level it will teach them a very basic working vocabulary, and an appreciation of another language and culture at best, which is not such a bad thing. I was told by a disgruntled member of the public that my job should employ someone that speaks Chinese because I couldn’t understand Autism Avengers Different Not Less Shirt!
