What about drunk people, they scream and shout- nobody complain? I really feel sorry for this parents. I like kids, but nonetheless I also have a job, degree, and life. Complete empathy for parents but at the All Is Calm All Is Bright Shirt time their needs don’t trump all others! I do think having babies in a flat is slightly inconsiderate. Babies don’t get special treatment. People work off hours and need to sleep. People might want a few minutes of peace in their space. A child screaming for hours on end is not acceptable.

If you don’t want neighbour noise don’t move into one, end of. I really never understood a few things about babies in England. I often stay in London and i discovered i really very rear see parents out with babies, out with children for lunch, out in park, yes, dogs but no children! Than i went to some SPA near Lincoln, beautiful country side, food- children not allowed! With this attitude i can understand people has problems having children!! Yes, they cry, often but thats life.

One crying baby is different to another crying baby. Sometimes they are plain hysterical and parents wouldn’t bother, like, at all. It’s not a given that everyone around should be like ‘awwwwww, how cute’ around your baby. I feel sorry for the family but I also understand from the neighbours point of view. This is a no win situation for anyone living in flats. The people threatening eviction were once also crying babies, and unlike most people, they apparently have NEVER stopped being crying babies.

Do something. Parents are to blame here. When I complained to the letting agent that the family of TEN Bulgarians next door were letting their kids, all FIVE of them play football in the kitchen at all hours, anything up to 1am I was told that children’s noise doesn’t come under the usual noise restrictions that everything else does. So legally there’s nothing they can do about a baby crying, if she stands her ground she’ll be fine.I’ve been in this exact scenario.

In the end I had to stay with family away from my flat for extended periods just to get some sleep. Of course you want to be understanding as you can’t control when babies cry and toddlers run around, but ultimately you have to sleep. After being interrupted in the middle of the night for extended periods it can have significant effects on your health. This is so stupid. In Germany if you complain about children noise you will be fined. Just got to get used to it because wherever you go, there will be lots of noise!

I came to London with my 2 children and i was surprised there is no law protecting basic children right. Children will cry, play and scream. What you gonna do? Those poor parents, can you imagine how they feel every time when their baby cry? You are adults, deal with it. I would hate that. The All Is Calm All Is Bright Shirt chose to have a baby and to deal with the joys and drawbacks of having one- their neighbors didn’t. I don’t think the neighbors should have to deal with the noise.
