But, also said the most hateful words to mainly me but some to him. She lived with us for almost a year, before moving to a personal care facility. My bf has a In Case Of Accident, My Blood Type Is Beer Shirt, but it was like pulling teeth to get any kind of respite. In that short time i’d seen more, done more, and lost more in my whole life. Dementia, robs the patient but robs the caregiver as well.

I pray they find a cure of sorts. I know that i will never put my loved ones through this. Know that i don’t blame her for her illness at all. But, she has lived in this facility most days in her own little world. A shame! The very hardest thing in life is to have to experience the grieving process while your loved one is still alive. The process is like a roller coaster ride, while forcing the brave face, you feel like a vice is crushing every bone and organ inside!

It can last for weeks . . . Months and even years! I don’t wish this torture on my worst enemy. Dementia is different for each person who suffers this condition, i believe. Yes, there are similarities, but it’s still unique within each person. As a caregiver, you have to go with their brain, their thoughts and fears, their desires, etc.

I’ve been following joey and molly since the start and just really have come to love them like my own family. It’s hard seeing through struggles molly deals with as well as how it affects the family. But i’m thankful joey started this movement to bring awareness so hopefully we can find a cure for dementia. This is heartbreaking reality. I’ve been through this with my mom and it took constant energy, trying to be positive but mainly keeping upbeat was tough.

Being with your mom during this time will be a gift; you won’t need to regret missing these days even though they’re so difficult. Memories of her will be meaningful later and bring you peace. Its a tough road to go down with a mom or dad. My grandmother and mother both had dementia. My mom had it for almost 16 years before she passed! I had ups and downs trying to understand it and the ups and downs each day.

She came home to live with us for the last two months of her life! It was difficult but the best two months with my mom! My mom is 91 still happy but sometimes cry for nothing sing christian songs all day reading the bible 3 times a day but some days ask me for my self . Its very sad see this In Case Of Accident, My Blood Type Is Beer Shirt and could find my mom inside her . But i do everything possible to make her comfortable and happy.
