No primates should ever be locked up in a zoo, they have so many emotions and are way too human like to be in captivity. They always look so depressed. This just proves how much they really are like us.  Such a happy tear-jerker!! And to think they use chimpanzees and Dilly Dilly Shirt for labratory experiments!!

I hope and pray they do not any longer!! I always wanted a monkey!! I am my own monkey!!! Lol !!! Touching ok but seem to be a little fake. They found them so easily is that jungle so little to find them readily in the first attempt. Only shouted at and they appeared suddenly.

I’ve seen this several times and love it each time! I envy the people being good friends with these beautiful animals. It’s easy to see how different species can love each other. And, the powerful gorillas know how to be gentle with the humans. It’s just thrilling to see this!  It is magical seeing something like that…you can see how much the gorillas care for the father and young lady.

I think awareness is slowly increasing regarding the cognitive and emotional capabilities of animals…however, we have a ways to go.  Eleanor long i agree with above statements. I love visiting zoos and yes i know all animals should ideally be in the wild, but most of the animals in good zoos are breed in captivity and are conserving species on the brink of extinction.

And places like monkey world are helping those animals that cannot be returned to the wild because of health problems. John aspinall did so many amazing things for animals , especially gorillas . I used to live close to howlett zoo in the u.k. And remember seeing him in the cages with gorillas as a child.

Unfortunately he passed away back in 2000 but his great work is still being continued through the aspinall foundation and his family. I believe that’s his son damian in this video. I saw this man in the zoo playing with the tiger… And then the second time i went he was feeding the Dilly Dilly Shirt. You can really sense the love he has for the animals… Also the love this particular gorilla showed back to him…
