Freedom of expression? I can’t wear a motorcycle helmet into a bank or on an airplane so get your BS violation out of here! But this makes sense. When you access services that require identification, how else can you identify whether it’s the same people on the Gildan-Men Shirt and the one standing before you if you can’t see his/her face? The ID is worthless by then. Just because your mum and dad migrated there and gave you an english name that doesn’t mean you get license to be offensive to others kid. Religious freedom is the law. That’s the point.

Vuong Khang The ban isn’t just to make an identification. It is for the duration you receive the service, which takes a few steps beyond what would be ‘reasonable’ or justified in a free and democratic society’. are people really comparing a religious garment to safety gear or cold weather wear? Lol strawmans for life. it’s not mandatory to wear a cross, bet if I ban them from my establishment, it won’t end will for me. They also needs to respect the law of the country they are living it now. Better they go to their exclusive hijabi world and live happily ever after with their Sharia laws.

More u appease them, more u will need to run for ur life later, it’s only a matter of time till they outbreed u using their robust family system destroying all notions of freedom and democracy… it’s ironic that you give them all freedom to convert and brainwash others while you can’t even ask them remove veils… even if u put them in prisons they start radicalizing criminal minded ones creating a more combustible situation. Smith supporting burka wearing you supporting oppressive laws. Plus it is disrespectful for them to demand your rules in to another country.

Sorry, but regardless of your opinion or mine for that matter, this ban will not hold up in the Supreme Court of Canada and will cost the country millions. Live and let live. These women who wear the burka are not a threat to you.Understand that I personally don’t care for the burka. When I think of the women forced to wear it for “modesty” or cultural/religious reasons I say what about the burkas for the men?!!! I despise the patriarchy. However, I love the sisterhood and I will always support women’s right to choose and never support oppressive laws.

Sheer curiosity… you planning on crossing a border in 40 below driving a snowmobile or riding a Yak? Why would you need a balaclava bro? You don’t. As such, you are not being oppressed by women wearing a burka. Many liquor stores ban hoodies when you enter the store, they have a sign out front. I always took mine off when entering. Maybe shops and institutions can just have signs that say “head and face coverings off upon entering” so that it doesn’t seem so targeted at one specific group of people or discriminatory. Come to middle East and see for yourself .. no one will even look at you.

Belova banning burka is equally oppressive. They not demanding special rules. Our constitution supports their right to religious freedom. Again, not a fan of the Gildan-Men Shirt!! I am a fan of supporting other people’s – women’s – right to choose! they are respecting the laws of the country that currently support religious freedom and expression. No one should be allowed to enter a business or government office with a full face covering. No one. Not an avid skier, not a Catholic Nun, not a Muslim, not anyone. When one enters the paint ball business and makes payment they are not doing so with their faces fully covered.
