I am surprised how the Gingerbread Let’s Get Baked Sweater is so optimistic about this. Gaming in Singapore is still very poorly developed and undersupported by society. Most of these students will drop out very quickly to go to university and find a “real job”. In status-obsessed and pragmatic Singapore, gaming is still heavily stigmatised, even if SG youth council gives a bit of money to the gaming school. The real place to go to be a pro gamer is Korea or China.

Conspiracy theory. Get yer tinfoil hat BBC. I heard that England tried to colonize China once. Could this have something to do with former colonies of England co-operating? Get over it UK. It’s over. Go back to yer tiny island and leave the rest of the world alone. Spot on Mikey Kane, and I don’t think the deluded ranting of someone who’s name is actually an anagram should be taken seriously. China has invested heavily in Zimbabwe. They don’t do this for humanitarian purposes.

Britain never tried to colonise China, they tried to trade and so the opium wars began which Britain won and they got Hong Kong to trade with China. Chris ‘theiceman’ Davies Yes, the head of state of Canada is the Queen and I would rather the Queen than join USA any day if those are the only two choices but that does not excuse the fact that colonialism is a bloody mess that we are still trying to clean up from here in Canada.

Ian Humphreys I do not deny the role that one side of my family at least played in the oppression of the other side of my family but some of us are trying to do better in the future than our ancestors did in the past. But I digress. This thread is not about Canada, so let’s get back on topic. The only way that Canada ties into any of this is that, yes Canada is a colony of England with the US empire as our closet neighbour. That’s where the relevance ends. Canada is along way from Africa.

Britain only took and never gave back…I’m sure all those nice fancy cities like Harare and Bulawayo the British built and a strong economy that they inherited after the British left was Britain taking on not giving back. Darlene Goodine As a matter of interest do you know the difference between England and UK as you use both in your comments? Just wondering. You really are even handed. You have a chip on both shoulders. You don’t know wht you’re talking about.

Well it sounds like you need to get over it. The things you’re talking about happened a long time ago. so what gives you the right to dictate what goes on there? You clearly don’t like one country interfering in another’s business which makes your whole argument a bit. Why doesn’t the Gingerbread Let’s Get Baked Sweater inform you about how colonialism and imperialism is affecting us in Canada and the rest of the world right now today? I was almost as ignorant as you myself until recently and I am in my fifties.
