One becomes God after God is dead. All that power of God no longer projected must now go in to and stay with oneself. “I cannot believe in God because i cannot believe that i am not He” Nietzsche God is dead. God remains dead. And we have killed him. How shall we comfort ourselves, the murderers of all murderers? What was holiest and mightiest of all that the world has yet owned has bled to death under our knives: who will wipe this blood off us? What water is there for us to clean ourselves? What festivals of atonement, what sacred games shall we have to invent? Is not the greatness of this deed too great for us? Must we ourselves not become gods simply to appear worthy of it?

Even if Hegel originally meant this with regards to reason and “truth” grounded in science over religion, I think Nietzsche more so saw that we have killed “God” and so have toppled our own means of redemption from guilt and so much more, morally speaking. Also we have lost a role model in the deepest and most existential sense(both a good and bad thing depending). Something greater than humankind. Its a great problem he discuss. I can agree “god is dead” is a question about life and dead. The term is usualy one of the slogan of Nietzsche we should fear most. I think its a open question what i know about it. – time is money.

Unless you are Nietzsche you could have no idea what he really meant to say except what he said … you can pile your own interpretations on it all you like … but you will never know exactly what he meant besides what he wrote. I think his writing is clear enough to stand for itself. Nietzsche, through his ‘God is Dead’ proclamation, attempted to awake humans to identify their self-imposed immaturity and not lead a dependent life, especially on something that is Cosmologically superior than anyone’s perception.

He was vocal upfront about the God’s we worship to be identical with superior men of the past who conquered themselves and their opponents, and not as cosmic beings. He challenged man to come out of the illusory shell and reclaim his right of being superior, superior in the possession of knowledge, for he regarded knowledge as the best means of emancipation.  Death to a two world theory of transcendence, whether Christian, Platonic or Kantian. There is no “real” world beyond the one in which one lives. Truth as perspective.

Humanity’s state of confusion and conflict is because we were taught that humans always make mistakes, humans can never be God (Perfection). Therefore we accept a world of problems and continue to create problems because we can only worship to a statue, a concept of Perfection but can never be.God is Dead because humanity is waking up to transcend, to do, to be the best version it can be (Superman). And when it does, the chain, the glass ceiling that limited humans would be broken, and the world is saved.
