Teacher was so happy for her to go there. Parents know what kids should be learning. It is best though to plan your vacations when school is out.ome schools are for learning their way, they are there to teach children to be jerks, bias, etc.  I am proud of this father and applaud his actions and response.

He is correct that they learned many things that they would never learn in a class room especially today when so much time is spent just teaching to standardized tests. I remember growing up in Philadelphia and seeing history first hand and it taught me to appreciate and love our countries history all the more for the first hand experiences especially visiting the historical sites.

Classroom learning is wonderful but first hand experiences teach things that last a life time and encourage curiosity and an eagerness to learn more.  If you were the teacher, you would see things differently. Kids need to be in school for only 180 days of the year.

The vacation should have been planned for any of the other 180 days when school is not in session . I did this several times while my children were in school. They are more intelligent than the teachers in some cases.
