I truly agree. Yes the sons do need a true example of a man as well as the daughters too so they know what a real man is to have in their life. I am a single mom and doing my best to raise both my daughter and son but i can only teach them from a woman’s perspective.

For those women who want to claim the mother/father dual role recognition on fathers day i only ask that you understand that as well as you are doing in raising your children, eventually your child will seek out a male role model. Boys to try and become like, and girls who they wish to admire and eventual be involved with. My mom was wonderful, but it was my father who taught me what a man does for his family and how to treat women.

A single mom can tell her kids how to be treated, but a man can show by his actions. Since 90% of communication is non-verbal, which approach will have the greater affect? For many who had kids in there teens or early twenties, i would assume you weren’t working ft with your own benefits and paying all your bills as you do now that your older.

As it was with my sister, she needed my parents help with med bills, food, transportation, etc. Were you mama and daddy then? Just be the greatest mom you can be. I’ll honor and praise you for that. I agree with you but, we had to do the best we could. I gave my son my father, he taught him well. He coached little league so he could always be there for him.
