I am a living example to my son of a strong female who has a career that provides for the family. Boys need to see girls in positions of power and respect just as much as girls need to see it. He would come home after 14 hour days and working every weekend..and always make sure he spent time with us..no matter what we were doing. If all he could give was 5 minutes because he had to go to bed, so he could go back to work…it was the best 5 minutes that we had!

He did what he did so we could have a nice house, a good education and always have a parent in our home…not like today..where my husband and i both work…and still have a hard time fitting in time with the kids..and our grandaughter…but we do fit some time in for them everyday… I respect the evolved role that contemporary dads give to their families.

I was raised in the 1960s and 1970s. This video doesn’t consider that dads worked hard at jobs as the breadwinners. They did not have personal computers at work. They didn’t have car phones, cell phones or answering machines! Most of them, including my late dad, were great men who were strong role models for children like me and my brother.

He was kind, strict at times, for good reasons, and always made time for us with his guidance and great love. I am very grateful, and i miss him a lot, especially today… Fathers day… I respect the evolved role that contemporary dads give to their families. I was raised in the 1960s and 1970s.
