Death versus quadruple amputation…many would opt for the former. You cannot condemn without having had to make this I’m Not 37 I’m 18 With 19 Years Experience Shirt choice. And you wouldn’t choose death. I was told when my husband first was admitted to hospital he could be dead by morning. He wasn’t. But he spent 4 months in hospital. And he has amputations of the front of his feet. He got off lucky. But I would still have preferred him alive even if they took his legs as they wanted to do at one point.

Hopefully that decision would be taken out of ur hands. It’s not a dog that you can just put down. It’s a human being. There are people all over the world without limbs making the best of their lives with what they have got.So that child could be sat there looking at you and you say to the doctors, yeh, let’s just kill her/him. Quality of life will be awful. It’s still life! You only get one! Horrific attitude to have.

Rosie Land. Have you been through it??. And actually as a baby she would find the adaptation easier than a adult. So yes I would question them.It is a choice…you cannot deny that parents faced with ghastly alternatives may choose the one which you disagree with.

She will grow up not knowing what it feels like to walk. And to have it and then not I think personally on the individual is a lot harder. To her it will be her normal. It’s hard on the parents but she will flourish.Rosie many adults would that’s true but as a baby she will grow up with this being the norm for her. As said above it’s 2018. And things will only improve

It’s a selfish choice when she could and will more than likely have a full life. You do not know what the future of prosthetics looks like. She could be a paralympic champion. She could be anything she chooses.Rosie Land By refusing to amputate you are killing the baby, so what dont amputate and then let the poor thing suffer a long agonising death. Are you sure you are a parent?

Rosie Land but I and he more importantly have more insight than you about this specific subject!. About amputations and the waiting and hoping like they have. Did you wait four months every single day by your husband’s bedside no I did. Did you change the dressings on his feet no I did. So do not belittle what he has gone through just because you would choose selfishly to kill your child ! And as it goes he may lose his legs anyway if his bones at the I’m Not 37 I’m 18 With 19 Years Experience Shirt end of his feet shift any further forward ! . So do not talk to me like I have no clue it’s disrespectful !
