Less over run prisons and hopefully will stop others.Should get the same sentence as many others that commit such a crime: 6 years is a joke!Nasty piece of work: lock him away for life.Juries get things wrong sometimes; and you can’t bring someone back to life someone if they’ve been wrongfully convicted and executed.No he should have got life in prison with no parole.

Scott Howieson we could do it the right way with an immediate firing squad, bullets cost pennies on the dollar.The death penalty does not work. Look at the USA, killings happen every hour. Most death row inmates serve 15 years before execution.Totally agree – there is no respect for life in South Africa, as these criminals face no real consequences for their actions.I’m not saying death penalty is wrong but in this century woman have more Rights than man ,this death penalty will strike more in men because the government have the love for woman.The death penalty ends up costing more in the states. Stupid idea

I agree with that, the sentence given to Oscar is very lenient for someone who committed murder. Pity the State could not prove premeditated murder which i think would have made him stay behind the bars for a long period. There’s foul play here, first Judge Masipa misinterpreted dolus eventulais, thanks to Justice Leach who made it clear that indeed Judge Masipa made an error in interpreting this maxim.Just got away with it! He will do it again ! He probably thought the gun shots wouldn’t go tho the door! Wrong!Life for a life, put him behind a door and fire the same gun into it till you stop hearing him scream and beg for his life. That would be about even.

Someone’s daughter was murdered by someone who’s supposed to love her. 6 years for the murderer, life for the murdered and life long grieving for the victims family. Fair?If he was found GUILTY which means it WASNT AN ACCIDENT, why isnt he in prison for life or get the death penalty? Six years or even fifteen years makes no sense!!Shockingly light compared to what? In the UK you would get less as long as you’re a woman or sex offender. (Not saying he shouldn’t be in jail for long) but really not that light a sentence.

The guy is seriously unhinged. He knew full well what he was doing, as do the prosecutors. A life sentence would be the appropriate course of action, but due to his national game he seems to be getting off lightly in the scheme of things!If a person had of broken into his home (as he claims he thought had happened) and killed her the sentence would have been much more serious. It’s amazing what money and fame can do for you.Sadly it’s because he’s a sportsperson, Luke McCormick only got 7 years for killing those people when he was drink driving.He should have been sentenced to Life! He didn’t have a leg to stand on!

South African prosecutors and police would do far better to turn their attention and resources to more serious issues facing the I’m Not Arguing I’m Simply Explaining Why I’m Right Shirt by addressing the latest South African Crime Stats: 52 Murdered, 109 Raped and 46 Hijacked daily, the ongoing white genocide and farm murders. More importantly 80 000+ White South Africans Murdered.  A situation which is threatening to rip the country apart.Geez there were many people present at the shooting that knew exactly what happened and felt and thought the same as Oscar that are qualified to stand as judges and executioners
