Tamira. What are you you rambling about . i dont know your situation. But, im sure if you lived in another country, you would be complaining! About it. Why dont you try ? And see how that works. Are you employed? Do you pay taxes? Are you trying to raise children? Do you have a man to help you? Are you on food stamps? Were you and your family born here? Dont blame someone else! Ms. Rae’s critics don’t understand that when it comes to racial pride, the playing field is not level. Black pride does not carry the power to shut others out as white pride does. And that’s the difference. Hollywood has a long history of privileging whiteness, from who gets to greenlight movie ideas to whom studios target for consumption. While white people have the luxury of turning on any given channel and seeing themselves reflected with nuance and depth onscreen, black people haven’t been so fortunate.

Black pride isn’t designed to block the progress of others. It is meant to empower and create space for black people to celebrate and honor ourselves in a country that tells us in no uncertain terms that black lives do not matter

Nicole! I think you better read the history book. Starting with Columbus, he was sent to find out, to see if the world was inhabited by others. Not to conquer anyone. It was an expodition.! The pilgrams came to America to settle in a new land. Another expodition.! The country started from 1492 there.Around 500 years Later America has developed into an overpopulated country. With people screaming! Its been unfare to them. Have they donated to make it better or just complaining they didnt get thier fare share. Have they tried to parent thier children to keep them from hurting others? Have the males stayed with the family to help them and support them.? Parenting in this country is one of the main problems in this country. Some! Of the fathers of these families leave and make the mother the sole caretakers, of the families. Or the grandparents take on that responsibility. (Those men who leave are cowards) and distant themselves from the family.
