That is huge. And to be able to, show your kid all of the black excellence that has been part of a lion king remake, is such a wonderful opportunity as a POC parent. As disney doesnt tend to make a lot of movies revolving around majority minority cast. Representation is so important, particularly for young black children to know we are not defined by our past and our opportunities are limitless. Shook at this cast and all these bold, talented and successful brown faces.

Anytime black people speak about strength, beauty, and power of their own people their is going to be a white person that pops to call it racism, because any strength within the black community is an immediate and very real threat to white supremacy. A movie isn’t going to do anything for black children.
