Why does everything,holidays etc have to be some bs agenda!  Sexism aside, its true dads did not spend time with their kids way back then but they loved them dearly and now we are so glad that these kids today are showing attention and love to their kids. The dads of today must have learned something from their dads of yesterday.

As far as books just for girls i read constantly from the time i could read and found plenty of inspiration for women in the making. I am now 68+ , most girls can read beyond their years as compared to boys so go up a couple of years to find reading material for your daughters. I was born in 1970.

My dad rarely spent any time with us. But i did have friends who’s fathers did spend time with them. I’m a single dad, i do it all. Honestly i like it that way. I’m free to be the father i was meant to be. I spent most of my time, before i started school with my daddy; on job sites and at home when he was injured.

After i started school, i still spent lots of time with him; i didn’t know it was supposed to be different. I’m not sure these sweeping stereotypes of fathers and their children is very helpful. You can not just say that in 1974 dads only spent 5 minutes a day with their kids, and less with Let’s Do The Odyssey I’ll Be Your 1-Up Girl Shirt, like it’s a hard fact.
