I’ve watched many kids who have missed days for “fun trips” suffer at the expense of their parents decision. Don’t be selfish. Schedule trips for non school days. Where is the nearest tree and rope. How about asking Mr. Rossi why his children were absent and go from there. I think she would have said great glad they had such a learning experience and great fun. A vacation is a voluntary Magical Liberal Witches Halloween Shirt & should be scheduled around the school curriculum.

Where as school attendance is mandatory by law. The 8 months of education was established to advance the children in their knowledge which is reflected in their future success. To interrupt the students education for a vacation only interrupts the child’s continued education & lost time & effect of proper instruction.
There are approximately 4 months for planning vacations which should be sufficient. I have a couple of kids and I agree with the school board there’s Time through the year to do vacations some people some parents just don’t care the little ones it goes against the grain.

Great dad for standing up for himself… as much as I try to schedule vacations during breaks, it isn’t always doable… the kids most likely learned more on their vacation then they would have otherwise sitting in the classroom for that week…
Sorry another example of too much control over our kids that the public schools think they have! Parents have the right to do vac whenever they choose & most of the time what they learn from home is better than the junk they teach in schools now.
I’m on the side of this dad. My children, and my siblings all learned more outside the classroom, at times. If you as a parent don’t like taking students out of class, don’t. Leave the rest of us alone, and go after the Magical Liberal Witches Halloween Shirt that just don’t give. Yes, let’s please encourage our children that it’s ok to miss school for no good reason.
