I cannot remember any of it except the word for Malcolm Young AC DC Body Mind Engine Shirt. And we don’t even use them anymore except at hipster weddings. I think a class on how to look after yourself like a modern day home economics would prepare kids for the real world a lot better. Yes i believe the younger they start, the easier it is for them to learn a second language, it’s a great idea!

In Europe they teach them from an early age to speak English, and therein lies the problem, we already speak the most universal language, so what language will they be taught? Couldn’t hurt, I did French and Latin, so if I ever come across a Latino we should be able to chat. I know I can write French letters to all my mates that need to stay safe. So what’s the problem? Did anyone notice that most Europeans speak a minimum of 2 to 3 languages? Makes us look like Neanderthals.
All my grandchildren learnt Italian in a private primary school from kindy up. Two of them learnt Indonesian in high school. When they shifted they are now at a government school with no second language. My youngest granddaughter who is seven also started learning Italian at kindy in a private school, they also shifted & now attends the local government school with no second language which she really misses. She loved learning Italian. Don’t most schools already teach a language.

Mind you the primary school I sent my girls to school allegedly taught Italian but aster 6 years of 1 or 2 (cant remember) lessons a week they could not put an Italian sentence together! If you are going to teach a language yet make sure they understand English first then another one.! How about just focusing on the importance of English to start with. Once they’ve mastered that, then allow them to choose when they’re in High School. So many kids can’t even grasp the English language and the many meaning of the complicated vocabulary we have!
Please let us focus on this as number one priority. My boy and it seems alot of children struggle with their speech. English is hard enough, let alone another language. Should be an option not compulsory. How fantastic! We moved from Aus to India 2 years ago. By year 3 the children have to chose another language….by grade 6….2. My 3 boys now speak…..Spanish, French and some basic Hindi! It’s a brilliant experience for young minds! My son learnt Japanese for a year in year 3 only..
Then nothing after that .. Off to high school next year .. To be told he has to pick up Japanese again .. What a waste of time and effort that could be of better use elsewhere if they have to start all over again. Kids on my bus teach each other their different languages so they may speak Malcolm Young AC DC Body Mind Engine Shirt another kid will tell them Farsi words and vice versa plus they are learning English. . I dont think kids think it’s that hard. .my granddaughter started learning Indonesian in pre primary . Fantastic idea but I think they should start younger.
