And I spray some Feliway spray in it just before I put them in it, makes a world of difference cause without they miauw miserably during the car ride and with the I Meditate I Burn Candles I Drink Green Tea And I Still Want To Smack Some People Shirt spray they lay down and I don’t hear a peep.  I have two cats. For the old lady, I take the box out a couple of hours before I have to put her in as she will always hide under the couch or bed.

After awhile she either forgets the box or stops caring and comes out of hiding returning to her normal routines. When it’s time to leave I just scoop her up and calmly put her in the box. Easy and fast, no chasing or unnecessary stress. The younger one actually kinda likes her box and does not hide when she sees it, even goes there willingly or at least without any resistance.

My cat gets right into the carrier as soon as we get it out. She cries in the car all the way there and all the way home, but still always hops right in. She’s going to “kitty camp” soon so that should make our trip much easier. I think she really likes going to the “cats only” spa. This reminds me of my late Siamese, Tai.

She was sweet until she had to go to the vet. Absolutely awful struggle. She was so badly behaved there they had a special mark on her file! Once home, she was my sweet girl again!  I have learned to scoop up the kitty and walk quickly to the garage where the car door is open and the carrier is in the seat with the door open.

Carriers with doors on the top are awesome and my vet likes them too. My three go at different times of the year but when I took two littermates together it was a nightmare getting them both in the carriers.  A few days before the vet I get the carrier out, pit in a nice cushion and some treats and they end up napping in it so by the time I need to take them, they’re ok with it.

In emergencies..I haven’t had that luxury and just have to do my best and deal with the scratches.   Scarlett is so nosey we put the box on the floor and she walks right in. Just open a cupboard, a draw, a box- anything and she will appear just to sit inside or on top, favourite at the moment is the I Meditate I Burn Candles I Drink Green Tea And I Still Want To Smack Some People Shirt  basket when you try to empty it , she looks so offended at being asked to get out.
