Crystal and her kids were only viewed as extensions of himself, not as their own people. His tears are grieving the loss of his perceived self, not the loss faced by Crystal, children and other family/friends. Narcissistic traits include manipulation. They are masters at twisting the Member Christmas Sweater so that they are viewed as the victim. It’s a mental illness. Crystal stayed because she was an empath- losing her parents at such a young age amplified her abilities to feel deeply for others. Unfortunately, empaths are prime prey for Narcissistic people.
