There are predators out there and when you go to a part with a bunch of young people with a the drugs and free flowing alcohol that is like throwing gas on a fire. I pray you are now being much more careful to protect yourself. Just so we are clear David Thomas, I never said that anyone was “Mighty Morbid Horror Rangers Shirt“, that’s absurd. I have to ask, if you’ve read this ridiculous article? Have you read any of the ridiculous comments from some of the ladies here? How is it that yousomehow only have words for the men in this thread. Are you saying that you completely agree with this article and comments of the irrational victims here?

Or are you just trying to earn brownie points from ladies that will never respect someone absent of a spine. As for how my mama, sisters, nieces, would respond to my words offers here. Mine was a joke. Theirs wouldn’t be! Of course it’s more fair for men to be taught not to rape than for women to be taught how to avoid getting raped, but it’s simply not practical to rely only on this method. Let’s be realistic: While every woman has the right to — and should be able to — safely walk home from a bar, for example, it’s much more effective to suggest to women “consider walking home with a group of friends for your safety” than to suggest to her potential rapist “heyyy can you lay off the raping please?

” Rapists are pure evil, the kind of evil not likely to be influenced by suggestions, education, etc. Just to clarify, I fully believe in prevention efforts targeting potential rapists, but for the woman discussed in the article to claim that no one should suggest safety precautions for potential victims is irresponsible and bordering delusional. We need to teach people not to rape, but until we’ve reached a 100% success rate in that attempt, we will unfortunately have to impose on potential victims to take safety precautions. I agree. Even if a car accident isn’t your fault, you can limit injury by wearing a seat belt. There is no reason to not be doing what you can to avoid being raped. Men should be taught not to rape.

Men are taught when they’re young to be in control of women and “no” means “yes,” etc etc. They are taught that women want it rough and they want a man to want them. They are taught not to stop other men from crossing the line with women. Men need to be taught the opposite. Rape is about power and control. Our culture endorses that mentality (not as much today as a few generations ago, but it’s still there). Brooke you must be a fellow Aspie…because even my Autistic ass could tell he was being sarcastic. I have 3 older sisters, and a VERY scrappy mama. They would have said worse things than I did.

The statement was Tongue-in-Cheek. But good on your for Red Herring deflecting to the language used rather than the point made…you Libtards are so good at that. No one is saying that people shouldn’t be taught to prevent getting raped, but it’s really important to talk about how we need to teach people not to rape. We need to show people the definite lines of rape, and show them how to not cross them. We need to punish the people who do cross them. And yes, we need to teach preventative measures because there will always be fucked up people in the world.

Unfortunately, when rape is talked about it’s almost always around the preventative measures that women (and always specifically women) should take. It’s never about teaching people that rape is wrong. We need to start teaching that as well. Generally speaking, it’s much better to be single than with a rapist. But that’s just my female POV apparently. Hi all, specifically Gregg, Mandy, and Jayce, who pointed out that prevention (targeted at potential rapists) is necessary in addition to safety measures — I totally agree (pls see me initial comment, as it provides some Mighty Morbid Horror Rangers Shirt for my main comment).
