I’d have to say Futurama blows it out of the water. That being said, I love both shows and can’t stand blanket statements posing as “journalism”. Thing is Rick and Morty relies too much on shock value to pander to the people who can’t track the dialogue. Is that an excuse? Anyone with half a brain and the attention span of an average everyday human being can track the I will fight for those who can not fight for themselves shirt. It’s not hard. It’s a cartoon. With a show that’s 90% improv, pretty sure shock value is a given. Otherwise it would be stale nonsense.

There’s some truth. Futurama is ok, but nothing really all that special. It has no edge, never did, and was rarely even actually funny. It’s the I will fight for those who can not fight for themselves shirt . It’s not bad, it’s good tv, but it’s family friendly and just doesn’t have any bite. Rick and morty, however, is brilliant. Sardonic, subversive, sometimes down right nasty. It’s a show made for adults, with adult humor and an edge that will cut a fool. The only comparisons that you can make between the two shows are “animated show sorta in space, sometimes”.
