Ive experienced neck aches after being at salon and having shampoo. Never thought it could lead to this serious condition. Seems like towels placed between neck and sink would cushion the muscles. All you had to worry about was soap occasionally getting in your eyes, which doesn’t appear to have killed anyone .

How scary never even thought about it .it hurts my neck to lean back especially after having double bypass heart surgery. Puts a lot of pressure on my chest. Sad story but it wasnt because of the salon. This was probably going to happen in his recliner or bed. Blood clots dont happen just because your in specific positions.

I work with the Stroke Team at a hospital out here in SoCal and if you google it, you’ll see it can happen. The main thing is not to hyper extend your neck as you could tear an artery in your neck. Trust me, even when I get my hair done, I make sure it is low enough with no strain.  Why don’t they use what many handicapped people require always request it.,maybe salon’s with start providing them…….I can’t see why it would be a problem for them to use.

Don’t know the ‘particulars ‘ of this story. But this is a rare occurrence. If the shampoo is uncomfortable, do something different. The stylist will help. Clots/strokes happen; usually without warning. This incident did not describe definite injury from shampoo bowl. The stroke occurred next day? Questionable relation to shampoo. ?

I can tell you for my part that is entirely possible it’s the wonder they didn’t beak my neck it was very painful Now I wash my hair before I go just so I don’t have to go through that experience. I agree with Doug we need to remember to say INDEPENDENCE DAY. To meany of our young people don’t even know what this day is all about because we that should know better forget to tell them that this day is not about BAR-B-Q’s and fireworks but we do those thinkgs to celebrate our freedom.

As I listen to the morons shoot off cherry bombs and blast their music with the bass turned down that I can’t enjoy sitting in my own backyard.
