Them setbelt harness should be band .thes just my opinion on the subject. This can not be healthy for the dog. Their anatomy is not designed for their body weight to be full supported by their pelvic area, as in humans. While this might seem like a nifty idea, I have to believe it can and will cause long term health issues and damage to the dog. Do you really mean that ? Those dogs looked scared and it’s unnatural…no go for my dog….a dog is a dog and not human.

Put them relaxed and lay down in a little cage or another solution on the backseat fastened. No stress for them… I have a hard time believing that any veterinarian would endorse something like this. It looks like there would be a lot of strain on the dog’s spine – it’s not a natural position. There are better seat-belt harnesses available that allow the dog to sit or lie down. “Booster seats” are also available for small dogs that allow them to be secured properly & look out the window.

I agree – it does not look comfortable, nor does it look particularly good for the pet’s spine. As you say Trish, there are other seatbelts that allow the dog to sit or lie down and occasionally move if they need to. I’ve noticed that people are treating their dogs way too much like children these days. Even their toys are starting to look like the toddler section of a toy store. Let’s try to keep this in perspective guys. Who are you to say a dog can’t be someone’s child? Maybe you’re just not loving enough.

Kishie Romero-Chen No a dog cannot be someone’s child. They can provide companionship like my two little Yorkies do but they can never be a child. Every living child across the world has more value than any pampered dog. By the way my ability to love is off the charts. Dogs up to 25 lbs. So no proper sized dogs at all. I can just see attempting to get my Golden Retriever or my daughter’s German Shepherd to sit in any sort of device like that. And whoever medically approved any dog sitting for hours in that position is a complete numpty!

These are good and very safe but although I dont want to put a dampener on this,Nurser 5 Things You Should Know About My Wife Shirt its not a natural position for a dog (thinking spine) …. mine would not settle in these at all. The ones I have are wide strapped and connect to the seat belt ‘anchor point’ and NOT the strap so very safe and they can stay in their natural position . What a nonsense! Poor dogs , they are not humans to be seated on that position, specially if is a long trip. Is enough to have a adapter to the seatbelt but where they can change position and stay comfortable.
