It wouldn’t be the same because so much would be lost in translation. Yeah, a lot of great Official Dallas Cowboys Dilly Dilly Shirt are translated into English too but we miss so much from their original form. There are people like me out there who first read the works in their mother toung languages and then read the works again in English after acquiring good enough English language skill to understand the sense of original works.

I am french, I use to understand the original Shakespeare better than some students who were english speaking, because old english took alot from french. One example I recall was in Henry v when refering to the “casques” the teacher had to explain it was “helmets” to the students. I had understood because in french it is still.
But Constance Garnett translations are dreadful any way. Neither a text nor any stretch of discourse remain the same. It’s not just a matter of translating from one language to another, but from one historical period to another. There’s always something missing. Audiences are not the same either.

Though impressive that he created new words and phrases the actual stories can translate. I mean there are a LOT of English speaking people who read modern language Shakespeare. hakespeare is in iambic pentameter. You can’t do it in French. Moliere does not fully work in English either.
At the time was fluent in Spanish. (I still am, just rusty). Anyway, I read a few passages from Macbeth on Spanish. It just didn’t seem right or feel right. I cannot quantify it or qualify it beyond that. because his stories are more then just the words. And it was cool actually. Dostoevsky is prose.
But i agree we gain, or lose things in translation but not the genius. It is not the same, but for all who can not understand English, It is a good way to feel Shakespeare´s soul. I am french and even I love reading his Official Dallas Cowboys Dilly Dilly Shirt In english, sometimes it is easier In french. When I was in Spain, I found a book with a few Shakespearean plays in Spanish. I used to teach British literature and always taught Macbeth.
