There are no wild herds in this country, all the horses are owned and the ones that appear to be wild are shepherded between people’s lands by their owner/caretaker. The latter are the ones that help with the natural ecosystem. If we were to decide that no horse could ever be owned by a human again, we would have a massive cull on our hands. The population of horses in this country would ruin the ecosystem if they were to be set loose. We don’t have big predators here, because we hunted them to extinction, so now we have the responsibility of keeping a balance.
