Most people can’t afford to quit their jobs for years to move to a rural area to live with their parents. My parents have said they will move near me so I can care for them when they reach the age of needing lots of help, but as Courtnee Chelle Hembree says it sounds like he wants to stay where he is, he likes his way of life. So this is a solution that works for that family. He gets to stay where he wants and he is giving someone a place to live. Dogs are kept inside for the most part. It’s an absolute myth that cats somehow instinctually crave the outdoors. Most indoor outdoor cats live less than 7 years due to the fact they are vulnerable to being hit by vehicles, torn apart by other animals or picking up diseases. Cats can be trained to go on walks with leash and harness like dogs. My indoor outdoor kitty lived to 20 and had many adventures. I had never heard of an ‘indoor only’ cat until I moved to the USA. Dogs and cats aren’t mostly kept indoors. If cats don’t want to go outside then why do they? Of course they want freedom to go outside. Plenty of outdoor cats live long healthy lives. “Indoor cats” are a largely American concept. Some countries even require that a cat have roaming space outside as it is more natural. Not saying it’s wrong to keep cats inside, I just hate judgemental attitudes towards people who allow their cats outside. Cats must have independence! They are not caged zoo animals! You think you’re joking but you are correct.

If i had a cat that had never been outside I would keep it in in the Old No I Am Vintage Shirt because of the crazy people trying to rehome them every time they come to say hello. How can anyone say it isn’t natural for a cat to be outside? Why then, are they nocturnal, carnivorous creatures that are naturally provided skills to live outside? Feline obesity has increased substantially in the last decade or so. Probably due to a combination of cheap, processed food, and yes, lack of exercise. What a disgrace. A nation which can not even protect its First Pet.
