I don’t believe in ” giving in ” to a child’s demands simply because they “cry” about it. Your job as a parent is to teach and guide. Not let your child be out of control and make decisions they do or donot understand yet. I agree with daughters being tough, it’s a great thing for a girl…. To know how to protect yourself when she has to. Your job as a parent is to teach this to your children and i’m pretty sure nobody cares what color clothes their kid wears…  I can’t believe in this day and age people think its possible for something to turn someone gay.

Sorry to break it to you, but you either are or you aren’t, and no toy, clothing, therapy, medication, or judgement is going to change it either way.  There seems to be a common misconception through out this entire thread that playing with toys that are not traditionally gender appropriate can turn your child gay or “when they grow up and if they become gay..” there is no growing up to be gay, they are gay from birth.

If you don’t agree this then ask yourself this question “at what age did you decide you where straight?” i know i personally didn’t decide i just knew, it’s the same for the glbt community. Environment or play as a child does not determine sexual orientation! Genes do! Not accepting your child for how they are will only lead them towards a life of mental anguish. Be better then that! My brother and i use to play with dolls together and play with trucks and cars together. My brother doesn’t have kids but he is an amazing uncle to my daughter and a son. I will be bringing them up in the same open minded way. I have 4girls and 1boy.one of my girls is really obsess with dinosaurs. She has a lot of collection.she always ask for a new dinosaurs on birthdays and christmas.i ask her why not a doll she said because i dont like it..i let her be i cant force her to play with dolls or barbies if she doesnt want too..let kids have fun ..

My only boy plays with dolls and barbies because of his sisters.he knows that the toys are for girls. He doesnt do it all the time.his doctor told me to let him play with dolls because that shows him that in his future he will be a loving caring father and a treating girls nice.he has and play with his One Beer To Rule Them All Mordor Dark Ale Shirt everyday.
