I was never told i couldn’t do anything because i was a girl. Whatever i wanted to do or try, dad found a way to make it happen. Go dad! Born 1970, both my parents were working fulltime. My dad did an equal amount of household stuff, and when he had to retire early, nearly all of it. Pug Bah Humpug Sweater spent late hours in the kitchen where he taught me how to repair headphones, tapes and later how to repair bikes.

We spend to much time demonizing the past. I can’t change what happened before i was a dad. I want my daughter to recognize when societal progress is being made and enjoy and participate in it. I’m proud to be the father mine never was. I did in fact learn from him just do the opposite of him and i can’t go wrong.

I love my daughter. We get our own dates and fun times of daddy daughter days and all activities. Whatever she wants. Luckily she does take after me so interests mostly do line up. I’m very lucky. My dad was given a large black board and he set it up in the living room. We did multi-digit multiplication and long division andeven square roots!!

It was awesome!! My son is a 33 year old , single dad of a 10 year old girl. She’s a girl scout and he’s taken the troop to su women’s sports and cheered her on while she played soccer and washed her hair and for a truck driver, i think he’s the best dad ever ! Five minutes? Where did they get that number?

Where did all of those future men learn how to work on cars, use tools, fishing, etc? I’m sorry but this seems like cherry picked information. That’s not too mention the number of single parents now versus then. This is an awfully broad generalization.

I was born before this, and yes dad’s today spend more time with their children, but dad’s in 1974 definitely spent more than 5 minutes per day with kids. My dad did the best he could with what he had & taught me to do the same… Never settle because you don’t want to be alone. Find Pug Bah Humpug Sweater who loves & respects you..
