I made this couple times for my three Spoopy Skeleton Shirt and they got very sick they got intestinal infection careful making it with the ground beef ! If you were going to make it I’d make it with white meat chicken.  What could I use for my Italian Greyhound with seizures and Irritable Bowel Syndrome? He’s on wet canned Duck and potato with a little tuna kitty food to enhance the flavor so he’ll eat it. Very picky. Been through lots of wet foods to get him regulated. He’s doing great. No gas bubbles or mucus blood spots in feces.

I use my pressure cooker to make our German Shepherds food, been doing it for years. Used the crockpot at first, but pressure cooker works fine, less time. Just now started making his treats, chicken breast, smidge of peanut butter and tiny bit of soy sauce. Slice thin, bake 2 hours at 170 he loves em. I make this once a week for my 3 fur babies. One has allergies.

They love this stuff. There fur shines. I would think the kidney beans would give them gas. It doesn’t. They are very healthy and happy. You can accompish the same thing by not cooking the veggies but freezing – it breaks down the fivers in the veggies as will cooking. Leave meat raw – rinse with vinegar then water if you choose.

A German vet told me to do this for my sensitive-stomach GSD. In a game of charades, he suggested natural meat like horse, deer, rabbit, lamb, fish. Got the last one right.  Great idea, but do you have a fat/calorie amount per serving somewhere? Someone could put their dog through misery eating something with a high percentage of fat.  Ceramic lined slow cookers leach lead into the food so either get slow cooker bags or a non ceramic slow cooker.

Also some of the ingredients in this can cause gut irritation like legumes. Have been making my dos food for 9 years. I use chicken Brest with the skin on,add frozen green s or peas”,sweet potato brown rice add 2 apples or pears add bacon grease to help keep skin moist and not dry,we also put to calcium tablets in food for the calcium, I have used this recipe for 8 years and it has improved his skin condition ,he if 11 years old but looks and acts as a pup, highly recommend it.

I use beef liver, chicken white meat, dr Harvey’s dehydrated veggie blend and dr Harvey’s high immune boost powder and oatmeal.  I know someone that has a small dog that needed to lose weight and it was feed only green beans and carrots, doesn’t sound right to Spoopy Skeleton Shirt. Don’t they need protein?  After the 20 minutes, let set to cool and all liquid will be absorbed.
