But there’s a lot of excess skin (Stomp My Flag I’ll Stomp Your Ass Shirt) which *still* leaves them feeling self-conscious. It’s almost like, “Wow, I did this incredible thing. But…I still have this skin as a reminder. I’m still self-conscious.” This man doesn’t seem self-conscious anymore- the remaining loose skin doesn’t seem to be an issue. Maybe it is, though? Other videos and interviews and weight loss stories have revealed that an excessive amount of skin can actually be very painful, regardless of how it looks. I’m hoping Susan’s question was geared more towards concern, rather than towards curiosity.
But. I gotta say, I appreciate your reply, and you’re right. (I have to admit though, I wondered about his skin, too, if only for the reasons I just mentioned). While everyone is mentioning the lack of loose saggy skin, I actually thought he wouldn’t have as much as some losing all that weight due to the amount of exercise he was doing, and the fact his loss was done well over a year with exercise daily! Yes there will be some but a lot would’ve been toned along the journey! What I will say is after that journey of 300llb weight loss that man deserves to have any removal surgery totally free! Massive respect to him and all his hard work!
He may have loose skin, but he probably feels like a new person. He took a serious step to improve his health and I bet he’s feeling really good about himself, both physically and mentally. Also his lose skin just shows how far he has come on his journey he’s amazing he’s made me more motivated then ever I really needed to see that xx. I’ve heard though when ppl lose that amount of weight and have so much skin left over, sometimes insurance will cover the surgery to fix it. Not always. But sometimes. And good for him.
I’m gonna be the one person to say this but I can guarantee that he was able to have the skin removed, those last pictures definitely have none of the loose skin in them. The issue is is that most people do not have the 40k+ in order to get the skin removed and it just makes the depression rise and self worth drop even more. In some 3-5 years, without any cosmetic surgeries or special treatment, he skin will be much better and with a lot less flaps only if he continues this life style. U have no idea how capable every human organ is and how good every organ is at rehabilitating provided it is not damaged internally.
Micaiah Rhys Quindoza, that loose skin gets back to its normal shape. It can be as much as 80% which is already close to how a non-obese person is anyway. Skin among some other organ is the most flexible organ, until and unless it is damaged permanently, it always finds it’s way back home. He is doing yoga . The skin will correct itself as he isn’t on a crash diet . Just takes time and it will happen . Won’t need surgery for that. Your skin is like a rubber band it will only stretch so many times…that is why we get wrinkles…if he has been over weight for a very long time, that skin has been stretched for a long time and not all of it will return to it’s original shape… he will need surgery to remove alot of the excess skin.
Daniel Bottemiller exactly ! I want to lose a lot of weight and I’m 70 and Stomp My Flag I’ll Stomp Your Ass Shirt. I had double knee replacements and they are great but my back has always hurt since childhood and being fat over 200 lbs doesn’t help my health issues. I’ve lost 60 lbs twice but the loose skin is even great because because when I carried my twins I was thin but gained 50 lbs and when We left the hospital I ha lost the entire 50 lbs. dr said the only way I could get rid of that extra brown skin it was , was to wait and have a tummy tuck. After the birth of my third child the skin was worse. Then I got fat and when I got thin again loose, hanging apron of skin that I still have even though I’m fat again !
