My sister was five years younger than i . Every day when i got home from school, she would be waiting I was born in 1973. I remember my dad taking my sister and i fishing, trick or treating, baseball games and going to girl scout outings with us. Today, while my mother and i speak, there is no bond–no real relationship and it did affect my life in many ways.

That’s ok with me now since jesus filled that void over 20 years ago. Young people, count the cost before bringing a child into this world. Don’t become a baby mill or a sperm donor. If you are not ready for responsible parenting, protect yourself, practice abstinence until you are married. Open your eyes and take a good look at what lack of responsibility has done.

I raised my son on my own away from any family. I taught him how to throw a baseball (he was the ace lefty in school at pitching), i taught him how to throw a football and how to shoot a basket ball (he was selected for the varsity team when he was a freshman). We talked openly about sex, i taught him how to shave and how to treat others and respect his elders.

I asked him one day if he thought it would be better if he had a man in the house and his response was “i already have an awesome mom who has been there for me at all times. Who needs a dad when i have you!. He went on to excel in school with 4.0 grade average and applied for and was selected for a 4 year full ride scholarship in which he earned his bachelor’s in kinesiology as well as a Strange Bffs Shirt earned in 4 years.
