I refuse to be my child’s first bully!!!  If you’re really bent out of shape over what piece of plastic your child plays with for five minutes then loses interest in you need a hobby or two. And so what if your child turns out to be gay. You’re the problem if you think there’s anything wrong with not being straight. I agree with this. While the whole gender roles have kind of disappeared over the years with the toys, but just go down your local stories baby section and there is still a clear division between girls and boys. They have part of it with girls stuff and part of it with boys stuff, such as pink, purple, etc. Colored items for the girls and brown, green, etc. Colored for boys.

Also some people if you dress your child in a certain colors people will ask if you baby or child is a boy or a girl if they are in a color that is different than what people normally see them in, for example say you have a baby boy and you dress him in purple or pink then some people say oh what a cute baby girl. The same thing can happen if you have a baby girl and you dress her in brown or green. Some people will think that the baby is a boy all because of the views of gender roles.

Also if the outfits have certain things on them, say a fairy or a monster truck. They may not be as bad as they used to be but they are still around. Sure i can make a debate about why we shouldn’t fill children’s heads with things like oh you can do what ever you want instead of having them choose what they want to do and participate with them to see if they really what to do that or not as a job in the future.

The fact is that children should be able to wear whatever color they want, play with whatever toy they want, and dream whatever dream they want without people being biased towards them about that. If we could maybe focus less on their attire and more on what they are learning in school and them have a job that they love to do for they whole adult lives.  If your child is happy.

Than why should it matter. Toys are toys. It’s the same way with clothes they should feel comfortable and happy. Also its unfair when many parents say boys don’t cry its not ok to say that. It’s better for them to express their emotions than to be coldhearted. Give them love and give them a great childhood that shouldn’t be based on gender roles.
