Joey the lord is using you so keep your eyes on him and your faith strong and in those moments when it’s just to hard hand it over to him.  I watched my beautiful, intelligent, funny mom deteriorate and forget my name and lose her joy for living. I pray that my children will never have to watch me or feel the pain and helplessness that i felt watching her. Thankfully my mother lived to the ripe old Time To Praise The Sun Shirt.

She recognized me but thought i was my sister. Yes, heartbreaking but we did our best to keep her happy and content. That’s all you can do.  It brought tears n painful memories of my mom who was my mentor my rock always positive loving strong willed full of life always helping others. This disease takes their spirit away. Always be positive n loving around your loved ones.this disease will affect you mentally.

Soend whatever’s time you can always tell them you love them very tough to live thru.  Learn to just enjoy your mother. Does it really matter if she remembers your name? She knows you are there with her. Enjoy her, whatever time frame she is in. You really will have a lot of good times with her if you can accept who she is now and not dwell on who she used to be.

Good luck, god bless you and your mother! Sir you are very courageous! Taking care of your mother in her needed state! I pray god give you the strength and the love to walk her all the way to his doorstep when it’s time for her to go home! Not to many people are trusted to walk his own home! You are doing a good work and it is ok to cry! This video made me cry. I am going thru this with my mom who can barely speak anymore.

It is like our parent-child roles have been reversed. I try to remember the strong funny woman she was. Good for you veronica can’t say i agree or disagree with you. I have lived through this as well with my mom and everyone has the right to feel the way they do. There isn’t a manual on how to handle life’s difficult experiences. Lamenting isn’t “crap”.

You are certainly welcome to your opinion but who are you to judge another persons journey and feelings?? You are a good son , you spend time with her n god bless you for putting it out there. A lot of people don’t know about dementia , what happened to their loved ones. This people can see. The hardest part for us as caregivers to see is when no one comes to see them because Time To Praise The Sun Shirt say why come.
