I know about the struggles..but have recently started the carrier on end..wrap him up & drop him backwards..though todays 1st attempt..he got out the towel as i was dropping him in..  I made riding in the ‘box’ a fun game, from the start.

I never had any problems from the cat about a ride in the ‘box’. Now, one time when I didn’t have the ‘box’ handy and so I tried to use a (empty) diaper pail, the cat really went into overdrive getting out of the hamper. Wrong! Keep box in garage, when needed put it in hall with door open! catch cat and put it in! My 3 go in easily and don’t yowl much on the 40 min drive, go back in after being seen by vet.

No problem at cattery either much to staff surprise, seems they are used to more of a battle. That’s what my kitty does when I try to do it along with biting and scratching. But I’m Mom and he won’t even allow me to pick him up. So, I get his big brother who is human to put kitty in the carrier and no problem. My carrier can be unscrewed to remove the top.

When I got my cat she wouldn’t get into the carrier so. The top was removed. It took several people to hold her in there & then the top was screwed back on. I still have the carrier, but when I take her to the vet I put her in a duffel bag along with her bed. I zip it closed, but there’s a spot where she can stick her head out to see what’s going on. She doesn’t mind that as much.

I have one attempt to get my cat in the carrier and he is not going to win. By the time we get to the vets which is 5 minutes away he has been sick and poohed in the damn thing. He hates the car as well which doesn’t help matters! I’ve tried a harness but he peed on my partner and the car seat! All is forgiven when we get home thank god x.  I keep the carrierI use most I in my second bedroom on the floor with a The Tree Isn’t The Only Thing Getting Lit This Christmas Shirt blanket in it and both my cats sleep in it so it feels less strange to them when I have to get them in there to go to the vet.
