This is ridiculous! I’m white and when i was a kid my mom dressed me as urkel because i loved that show and that’s what i wanted to go as. She even painted my skin, not being racist by any means! I was tickled pink because i look just like. This is such a stupid question if any kid wants to dress as moana or any other character for that matter let them. Usa today you’ve dropped to a new low. Race batting really?

Why is this even a question for a child about a disney character if you wanna educate them on who exactly moana is and where she came from ok but don’t say you can’t be this character because of your race. I’m sorry but i find this to be an outrage! I think it’s pretty racist to tell my daughter she can’t dress as moana just because she’s white!

People can dress whatever they want to put on… Next time we will be saying … You cannot dress as a doctor or police man … Because we will be offending the professionals…. Why not dress with hawaiian or an african or american tribes or with aztecs outfits … They are beautiful …

I dont think people or kids would want to destroy the outfits … They’ll wear them with pride … Now paying the face is a different thing …. But why not ? What about wearing a white paint in the face like the french aristocrats in the xvii century??? Will this be offending anybody?  This is a stupid question. Of course. White kids and all children can dress up as moana. However, i wouldn’t want to see a white child in blackface trying to be moana.

That is unnecessary. If we are going to be truly color blind it must be a two Unicorn Your Aunt My Aunt Shirt. Diversity is the goal. Unless it is a racist costume children should be allowed to dress as they please. Of course any child can dress up as any character for halloween.
