Probably not your average since I am twice your age. I was a RN for about 30 years. I worked through that time when nothing was known about auto-immune disease and fibro was thought to ‘just be in your head’. My life was drastically changed in 2008 when my auto-immune conditions and fibro finally took me out.

To make matters worse it was in 2008 during the financial collapse. I lost everything-my identity and retirement. You just never know even with the best of plans. I just want to say I love you. I love that you are raw and brave and human. Although I would never wish any of this on anyone.

I am glad you have a platform to make our voices heard and bring better recognition and hopefully research to these horrible chronic illnesses. So much love for you today. I haven’t really labeled myself a fan, though I’m aware and have a deep respect and recognition of your talent. This may change once I hear Joanne, though.

Anyway, I just wanted to thank you for this personal and insightful glance into your life. As a woman also suffering from crippling fibromyalgia, I cried with you when I watch this. I’ve been reading articles and interviews around this documentary and am so grateful for you unabashedly bringing fibromyalgia into the light.

It is such a difficult disease to have, not just physically, but emotionally. We face so many doubters (I was one until my diagnosis last year) and stigmas.  We all adore and love her and want to see what else she can create for the world… but to force her creations out of her Warning Choking Hazard Shirt while she’s in pain? We wouldn’t be Little Monsters, we’d just be monsters to do that to her.
