Great job making fun of a high school student like 30 years younger or more on a Facebook post. Do you feel like a big guy now Alfredo Vinci? Go kick a puppy. Alfredo, when Liberals took over, starting at the college level, they changed up everything being taught. They hate the Europeans with a passion, so they made sure today’s generations did as well. Since they hate it so much, they are welcome to move to progressive places like Africa & Middle East that they worship. Never said that I hated Europeans Kathleen McNally. Workin’ My Puff Into Tuff Shirt. Can’t group an entire generation together under one belief like that. That’s like saying that all guys hate the color orange. Currently have a Spanish exchange student living with me as well.

All of this nation is built on the backs and blood of the indigenous, and natives who long before the white man came. It is Columbus Day. Quit your whining. Get over it. You lose the battles and the land, you don’t get to name the Holidays. Because when we made up this fake holiday in the 30’s it was about a battle? NO . It was about an Election and an Italian American hero. Which as it turns out he wasn’t. Newsflash, it’s changing.. a few more years and it will be gone.. to the victory and historians who care about .

careful now….Trump may get confused and call for the deportation of those indigenous peoples. They’re just like immigrants, right?? Trump wants to get rid of ILLEGAL immigrants. Not those who have paid their way and fought hard to become a productive & legal citizen. Happy Columbus Day”? Do people say such ignorant thing? I mean it’s not a “holiday”, is it? However, I’m sick and tired of people politicizing history, judging historical figures, and events, based on modern day opinion and knowledge etc.. Yes, Christopher Columbus did horrible things (by modern standards), but the movement to turn Columbus Day into “Indigenous Peoples’ Day” is silly, laughable, meaningless, identity-politicking and grievance-mongering nonsense. Don’t we have other things to fix?

Whatever else he was, Columbus is a figure of enormous historical importance. Was he a good guy? or a bad guy? (same can be asked about George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, Harry S. Truman, George W. Bush and other past figures) that’s another issue altogether, history will always tell a different story. Yes, the European conquest and colonization of the Americas occasioned tremendous misery for indigenous peoples and enslaved Africans, but it also brought Western civilization to this hemisphere, contributing to a massive groundswell of social development. See, Columbus was not the first, nor was he the last, to have done, and caused such effect in history.

These processes were far bigger than Columbus, but he does deserve to be commemorated as something of a symbol of them. It was Columbus who made history in 1492, both for worse and for better. Other ignoramuses are calling for a “Leif Erikson Day”, really? Erickson was the first European “Old World-er” to reach North America. But to no effect, he didn’t stay nor leave a lasting settlement. Columbus was the start of the modern New World exploration. Columbus was the change, in which we still live TODAY. He came to North America and paved the way for the next two centuries of explorers and settlements/growth in North America.

Columbus Day is NOT the celebration of invasion, rape, enslavement, violence and injustice.. but it’s a day to commemorate the “discovery”, or perhaps the exploration of new “seas”, new “lands”. WITHOUT Columbus, there won’t be a united state. just sayin’, it’s easy today (Workin’ My Puff Into Tuff Shirt) to point fingers at passed actions & events, and pass judgment. Stop politicizing history, the past wasn’t politically correct, nor was it always 2015.
People need to STFU, pick up a book and wise up!
