Oh and used to have one that would pee every time i put him on the carrier, sometimes even poop, like every single time…sigh.  This was sooo funny!! So we move into a new house and we leave our cat Be You The World Will Adjust Shirt and our pug at the old house to then be brought to the new home later in the evening once movers etc etc are gone.

Several hours he returns… with Oscar and sans Leo. He just couldn’t get him into the carrier!!! I make our grooming appt for 8 am. I have the crate in a closet and as my husband leaves for work I have him close the door going to the basement and then when I get up I close all the bedroom doors behind me as I head to the kitchen so he can only run in the great room and kitchen with no place to hide and then the fun ensues.

I never have problems with getting the cats in the crate. You put it down with the opening facing upwards and then grab the cat by the neck and under the armpits, then lower gently into the crate and close it. All 4 dislike the crate bur they’re not scared of it as such, so we never have problems with them. One cat will run from the presence of the Crate O’ Doom, hiding behind/under couches, chairs, from one place to the next…then meowing piteously to/from the vet’s.

The other, if you can catch her, resigns herself to her fate and sits grumpily in the crate, waiting for that split second when she can escape its clutches. I bring mine out a few days in advance. They see it, they sniff it, they take a nap in it so when I scoop them up and give them some ear skritches, they aren’t at all alarmed until the door shuts.

My last kitty, all I had to do was put him down in front of the door and he would walk right in. I have the vet come to my house now, but where I lived before closer to a vet I went there. I had no problem putting my cat in the box but she did NOT like it one bit. Especially then the car ride. Once at the vet and done with the examinations, she was so quick back in the box and at the very very back of the box!

When the cats where little put there favorite blanket and a treat in it just left the door off and let them think it was just a box nothing more. Now when ever Be You The World Will Adjust Shirtget it off the top of the wardrobe there a fight with everyone wanting to get in it . They are pretty fine with the door closed and will happily sit in there until you take them outside and get into the car.
