I would appreciate it if people stopped insinuating that the Yoda Star Wars Shirt  hijab is oppressive. Period. I know some muslim women who wear it, some who don’t, and both are fine because its freedom of choice. Yes, some countries unfortunately force women to wear some form of covering, but that is a reflection of a country’s politics, not the religion. I’m also sick and tired of hearing people say things like “You’re in Canada/US now, you can take off your hijab.” Persons who says anything of the sort immediately reveal their lack of any knowledgable understanding of Islam. Stop getting your panties in a twist every time you come across someone whose culture is not western. And PSA: Keep your hands to yourself. And more specifically, don’t ever touch anyone’s religious garments.

I thought this young girl had so much dignity in delivering her speech. Nobody can condone a child being attacked over her faith for goodness sake.Poor child shouldnt have to wear such a garment. However, she must have been scared when the scissors came that close to her face.
